The long, thin extractor, the design that pivots on a pin visible from the top/bottom of the slide, uses a very short spring, less than a 1/4" in length. (Let's call this type, Extractor A.)
The short, fat extractor design, the one that does not use a pivot pin through the slide, rather pops in and out of the slide easily and has a round, spring-loaded plunger pressing directly from the rear, uses a much longer and narrower spring, about 1" in length. (Let's call this type, Extractor B.)
Obviously, designs A and B are completely different and the two springs are not interchangeable. The extractor springs I've seen on the Wolff Springs site are for the long, thin extractor, the type that uses the through frame-mounted pivot pin...type A. I have not been able to find the second type extractor spring, the one for the short, thick extractor....type B.
If anyone has a source for these type B springs, and for the round plunger that goes with it, please list the source. Numrich GP has both styles of extractor bodies in stock, and the springs for the type A extractor. However, they're currently "sold out" of the type B extractor spring and the plunger.
