Default BG380 Laser Always Pulsing

I just realized that the laser on the BG380 is always pulsing even when, to the naked eye it looks constant. I had just finished cleaning mine and I flipped on the laser (no slide on frame). I pointed into a dark corner of my workshop and started to swipe the beam back and forth on the wall. It was then that I noticed the beam had breaks in it. I flipped it to the pulse setting, did the same thing, but the gaps got wider. IDK if this has been mentioned before, and it may be the case that all lasers do this. I just got a kick out of it.

I haven't messed around with the laser too much, just turn on and off every once in a while to make sure its still working. Sounds like it could possibly be a low battery on yours.

It may be deliberate - pulsing a laser allows brighter "on" periods without overheating the diode (a life expectancy killer). And, as you noted, there's no detriment to its functionality in this application.
