Question Slide Mounted Laser Sight for 4506-1

As the happy owner of a couple of real nice 4506s but the unhappy owner of a couple of Senior Citizen-style eyeballs, I find my eyesight somewhat unable to focus on a conventional sighting system anymore. It is, therefore, that I am reaching out to the group to see if anyone out there knows of a slide mounted laser sight such as the Laserlyte-style rear sight that might be available for these guns. Lots of stuff out there for the plastic guns but for the 3rd Generation Smiths - nada!

I am looking for a slide mounted system (rather than the grip-style) to replace the rear adjustable sight on one of my 4506-1s. I have looked all over the Internet and came up empty-handed. My second choice would be a frame-mounted style but I come up with a blank in looking for one of those as well.

Any help and/or suggestions?

Three Tees - I share your frustration - both with the lack of 3d gen lasers and the aging eyeballs. This thread Crimson Trace Lasergrips for 69xx, 39xx & CS9 describes what I went through to modify the Crimson Trace lasers for my 6906, 908 and CS9. I don't have any 40's or 45's to fit the CT laser to, but I think the LG359 for the 59xx series can be made to fit them. Not a project to be taken lightly, though.

The only alternative I know of is the (I think) Lasermax which replaces the rear sight. I've heard several people say they like them and several that they didn't like them - only you can decide.

Let us know what you figure out.

3T,

I just finished fitting a Laserlyte rearsight laser to my 6906.
If you search for "rear sight laser for 6906" I think you'll find it.
(Sorry, I don't know how to post a link)

I've attached a photo of the finished product.

Tom - I guess I missed that last post, but I just went over and read it. That's some nice work. When do we get the range report?
