S&W 1911 "Billboard"
Does this pistol have a stainless steel or alloy frame?

Some Billboards have a scandium frame.

Interesting. I have 2 billboards and they are both stainless frames. I have hefted probably 15 different Billboards over the years and none of them were a Scandium Frame. Fkienast, was there a specific serial number? I have seen the Billboard with the Atom insignia on the side and those are scandium, but never an original Billboard.
A-37, can you post a couple of pics of the Billboard in question?

That makes sense Wheelman44. So, it'd be safe to say, unless your Billboard has an Atom engraved on the slide or has an SC in the model number, it'd be a stainless frame.
I guess I show my bias since I automatically thought of the original "Billboard" like my twins.

Photo
Photo of the gun in question.
Seller said it has a JRE prefix and a magnet sticks to the frame.
