Billboard information needed--------
I came across a S&W 1911 "Billboard" pistol. The serial number is JRD59XX. It is a 108282JC I am not familiar with the JC model at all. This gun is at the gun show and I will be going back there on Sunday. Hopefully it'll still be there. Can anyone give me and information about this gun? Thanks

Yours having a JRD serial number prefix is a first year production 1911. Probably late 2003.
I have JRD 6500. Rumor say the first JRD's were assembled from custom parts, like a Briley barrel & bushing and other parts obtained on the open market.

My 1911 box is marked with the model number in four times on two different labels. On the top label it reads twice 108282FC, nearby is "Fired Case Enclosed".
The normal S&W label has just the model number.

Buy it before someone else figures it out! Great gun, I've had two, one of which was stolen and then I found another only two digits different in the serial number which I still have and use.
Mine are very reliable, and quite accurate as well as light enough to carry.

Well I bought it and it's as new as new can be. I field stripped it and there wasn't a mark on it anywhere. I'm going to get to the range ASAP. Two thousand and three was a great year.

I have a later JRE Commander size pistol made in 2004 and it has been great over the years. I did put some Carbon fiber grips on it from the old Carbon Creations Co.
