Am I a fool? 4566
I found a BNIB 5904 with Novak sights.I am selling my 4566 to get this one because I like being the first owner .Know it's a doublestack 9mm etc..I had a 410 and 910.For some reason this new 5904 has a hold on me.I've got a 4516-1 that goes nowhere but I'm kinda wondering if it's a mistake or if I should just get a 910/915 and keep the 4566.Opinions welcome-Am I a fool or do it!

The 5904's BNIB price is $525, the 4566 is $625, but also BNIB.

Ah yes, the fine art of balancing new gun desires with retaining ownership of past treasures. Been there many, many times. For me it always comes down to rarity, money and my ability to replace the gun I am selling should I regret it down the road. A NIB 5904 is pretty darn rare. Do you have the money to buy the 5904 and keep the 4566? That is of course your best move. The 4556 is replaceable for now, but there are getting to be less and less of them for sale. So keep that in mind. If it were me and I couldn't buy or keep both (which again is the right move here) I would get the 5904. Then I would buy a 915 to shoot so I could keep that 5904 NIB. Then I would start hunting for a really good deal on a 4566. But that's just if it were me.

That's a great line Mlk. I too have been there. One in particular still makes me shake my head.
Anyhoo, having stretched my budget to buy a 4506 and two expensive CZ's(one rifle and one pistol), I find myself looking at selling a few of my guns to balance my accounts.

For what it is worth, I see very few NIB guns of this vintage, regardless of the model, so it should be a solid investment. You will see other used 9s and 45s.

Thanks for all the replies.I have asked this question before on here about different guns and if I keep it up y'all are gonna say 'oh it's the sell one to get another one guy!' mlk8 you hit on something I was thinking of doing anyway just getting a 915 so I can keep the 4566 and besides the 915 looks alot like the 5904 and I'm sure Novak can fix me up with a rear sight.I like being the first owner, the last time that happened was in '96 when I walked out of Wynn's firearms in Ft. Walton Bch. Fla. right outside the gates of the base I was stationed at with a NIB model 410.I sold that gun a couple of years ago to fund a 1911 and man to this day I regret it badly.I have a 4516-1 and it goes rather well with the 4566 so I guess I shouldn't hurt their feelings and separate them. There is no cure for this 3rd genitis,as a guy on here said he needed to enter a 12 step program and I just told him yeah buy 11 more!!! Thanks again everyone and as always-I love this bar

I have a 4566 and a 457. I have no intention of parting with either.

Ok the majority wins! Now one more question Are the 4566TSW really BETTER than the regular 4566 and why did S&W turn them into TSW instead of leaving them alone? I know the refinements and all that but I see alot of 4566TSW for sale but hardly ever see regular 4566's for sale.I've read from someone who owns both that he can't tell the difference accuracy wise.
