You got a good deal on a great pistol. Once you take it too the range and run it through it's paces you will see why. They carry great too. The only thing I did to mine was put a strip of grip tape on the frontstrap. The mags with the pinkey extension are nice too.

I'll second that. The 908 is a fine little carry gun. At $300 OTD you got a very good price, and from the picture it doesn't appear to have been abused at all.

That's a great price on an excellent little gun. I paid just a little less for mine and it was not in near as nice of condition. I am confident I got a very good deal, so yours must have been a steal! I may have to report you to the authorities.

I liked my #908 far better than the #3913 I owned. If I ever run across a #908s, I will own it.

Great price, I rarely see deals like that and even more rarely get to take advantage of them. Well done, sir!

"just curious as to why you like the 908 better?"
I actually liked the flat top slide on the 908 better than the rounded top of the 3913. The 908 was slimmer due to a single safety lever, and it felt lighter to me. I swapped the 3913 to a forum member in Florida for a Glock 17.
I had two S&W #908's, let my brother talk me out of the nicer one on the right.

I had to run down to the safe and check, and sure enough (based solely on feel) the 908 does feel a little lighter in the hand than the 3913/14. But I think that the unloaded specs are within 1oz of each other so it may just be my mind playing tricks on me. Of course I am in the process of swapping out all the plastic parts in my 908 for metal, so that oz is going to disappear.

I just ordered a metal guide rod, disconnector and a few other small parts from Numrich Gun Parts Corporation. And yes, they were all for the 3913/3914. I am going to leave the magazine catch assembly as is for now.

Picked up a 908 at the Greensboro gun show in January for the same price for my wife. Came with 3 mags and case. I got a metal guide rod from Midway USA. Seems like a great little gun. We are waiting for CT laser grips now. Grips are coming from John in Texas from here on the forum.

I presume the 3913 guide rod is stainless where the 3914 guide rod is blue. Either will work, just comes down to aesthetics. I went with the stainless guide rod as I intend to polish both the barrel and guide rod.

I rented a 908 awhile back, good, but the trigger reach in DA was a bit much. It didn't feel all that much smaller than a 39-2.
Geoff
Who wants a LW Compact DA/SA 9mm in plastic, S&W are you listening?

ok... went to gun show in louisville ky.... found a 908... asking price was........................... $700 or $ 750... right next to it was 3913 for $595... in the next row somebody had one for i think $625... they must have been cardinal fans, smokin crack in the ville... so my $300 908 and my $ 385 3914 really sounds good now..
GO WILDCATS!!!!!

Got the info from S&W when I called to order a magazine catch for a 908. I was sad.....Hopefully they keep some parts on hand at S&W for those of us who may need to send our 908 in if they do ever break.

Wow. That's too bad. I'm assuming sales drove it out, or lack thereof. What a good gun too. I'm glad I bought one and plenty of mags for it. Dag'gone plastic guns are taking over, LOL.

Good price! I bought one for 250$ with one mag only. If you got 3 mags with it you got a hell of a deal!
