Smith and Wesson Warranty Turn Around Time?
I had to send my 5906 in last Friday for repairs to the barrel cutout for the guide rod because it was so worn out disassembly was impossible. It's been in for a week and I know I probably have another week or two to go, but how long can I expect to wait to get my 5906 back?

I sent in my 4516 a couple of months ago, as something internal locked it open and would not allow the slide to close .From the day I sent it off to receiving it back, was 8 days.
I couldn't ask for better than that.

Did they ever send you an email or did you just randomly get FedEx dropping a note at your door?

I had similar quick service but no call or email. Just a FedEx delivery.
If you have a pick-up ticket number you may be able to call or email and get some info.

Have they acknowledged receiving the gun? They send a letter with a work order number and status. You can call CS with either the work order # or serial #.
They send the gun back without warning, or at least that happened to me 2X.

They haven't acknowledged it, but the FedEx email I got said the shipping receiving manager signed for it
Could it just be that since they are working at capacity (being an election year and all) they didn't send me anything?

Make sure an adult is available to sign for the gun, they won't leave it at the door.............usually, I mean.

I once had a long gun left at the door of my garage, a Mauser. It was UPS that did it. No harm, I live somewhat rural.
There have been other posts here where a carrier has left a gun at the front door.
Don't think it will happen with Fedex and S&W though, Fedex is used by S&W regularly.

I do know speaking to the fedex home office that the local fed ex driver and offices do not know its a gun, just that a signature from a person at the resident household of at least 21 years of age is required for delivery. So if they violate their company policy by leaving without signature they have no way of knowing it was a firearm.

Ok, so here's another question for you guys. Can I schedule a time for them to deliver my gun? If that's not possible there is a FedEx center like 3 miles away but if I can schedule a time for them to visit my house that would be great. Has anyone scheduled something like this or know if it is possible at all?

Don't know, but if you miss the delivery you CAN call the Fedex depot and have them hold the "package" for you. Pick it up at your convenience then.I did that once before. Didn't tell them what I was expecting though.

My FedEx lady always calls first to see if I'm home, but then again, she knows most of what she drops off are firearms.
