Default Cdnn 5906 Novak sight

The gun is in great shape. I need some advise on the Novak sights as the white is gone. What are options and likely costs? Also the red on the decocker indicator is gone. I'm thinking enamel paint on a tooth pick. Seeking guidance from everyone's eExperience.

Thanks

The 5906 I got from CDNN a month ago was like that. But the sights cleaned up pretty nice using alcohol. I've been debating whether to bother with the red dots on the slide.

I used the toothpick and some bright red fingernail polish from the wife for the safety indicator, however I bought some neon fishing lure paint for the sights and that worked pretty good.

Default Thanks all.

We'll try the alcohol first to see how they clean up. Just did a quick field strip and the gun was spotless. I'll give it once over anyway. Good idea about glow paints.

When I got my used 5906, alcohol on the sights worked for me as well.

For the Red and White paints, I use the uniPAINT paint markers in the PX-20 Medium Line format. Works great. Simply Google them. I'm sure that Staples or other office supply has them.

They clean up (after they dry) with a Q-Tip of RemOil or some other gun cleaner. As you can see, they do work.

As for the holster-worn sights, try Acetone (or fingernail polish) to de-grease and apply 1-2 coats of Cold Blue. Be sure to wash off the cold blue with water or water-soaked Q-Tip. Easy.
