Question 659 Slide to Frame fit 2nd generation

Q: I picked up a very nice 659 at my LGS. I was able to fieldstrip before buying. The guns internals looked to be possibly not fired. No wear anywhere I could see on guide rod, barrel hood, frame. Tight lock at the locking lug and slide mortise etc. The only thing, there seems to be a bit of a fit issue, side play at the frame rails to slide fit and some verticle play as well. Do these series of gun; ie: 59',5906, 459, 669 3 1/2" in. display this type of fitting in general? If so, has anyone attempted to tighten the fit, peening the rails etc for possibly some enhanced accuracy? Any opinions welcome..thanks.
