Default TruGlo on a 22A

I bought a 22A about a month ago, and really like shooting it. I basically only use it for target shooting. I have a friend who has a TruGlo red-dot sight that he no longer wants. He told me he would make me a good deal on it, if I was interested.

Do any of you have experience with a red-dot on a 22A?

I have a 22S-1 which is the stainless steel version, and I've had a Burris 2X LER scope on it, in the past.
More recently, I bought a TruGlo red dot scope for the gun, and it's the way to go on a 22 target/plinking pistol.
Much easier to acquire a target and seems to hold more steadily on the X-ring.
Think I paid something like $45 new from Midway USA, a few years ago, and btw; TruGlo was the only reasonably priced red dot scope that had a life-time warranty on it.

Same here. Accuracy goes way up with the Red Dot. My Talo 22A has the Truglow, and do not let the low price fool you. Under 60.00 for a new unit.

Could you post a pic of this set up? I also have the Talo 22A and would be interested to see what you have done.

Recently I've been on a red dot frenzy trying different brands and devices to acquaint myself with the technology (and prices). My 22A-1 has a NcStar red-green four reticle pattern reflex sight. It adds a new dimension to shooting. On hand is a Millett SP-2 (30mm tube) to be installed on another .22. Thank goodness 30mm .22 dovetail rings are readily available! For older eyes these new electronics really help at a very reasonable cost. The 22A-1 is a natural for this mod.

I bought the TruGlo from my friend for $25.00 today. It mounted easily on the 22A. It is the red/green four sight version. I can't wait to get it out at the range and see how it works. I figured for $25.00, I had to try it!

They work great, especially if you wear glasses.

Hi All,
I also have a Talo 22a that I just started shooting in a steel league with. Did pretty good with open sites, but the guys with red dots were a lot faster. I have a TruGlo reflex sight I’m not doing anything with right now. Here’s the question, where should you place the optic on the rail? I have had two people tell me two different placements. What’s your preference and why?

Where it fits, LOL.
Really, place it where you can see the dot easily without getting close to the back of the pistol, for obvious reasons.

True or false? These have to be sighted in for a specific target distance and then are not accurate at different distances?

I finally had a chance to get out to the range with my 22A. I took my trusty allen wrench (metric) with me and started sighting the TruGlo in. I was shooting at 7 yards. I got the red dot zeroed-in where I was able to cluster my shots in an area about the size of a nickel (not too bad for a 61-year old. I think I am going to like fooling around with this new toy (couldn't pass it up for $25.00).
