3913
MAN O MAN.
TRADED FOR THIS 3913 A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND AM I IMPRESSED. THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE GUN. VERY EASY TO SHOOT AND EXTREMELY ACCURATE. WISH I HAD DONE THIS YEARS AGO.
COULD THIS BE ONE OF SMITHS BEST SEMI?

At one time the 3913 was the preferred CCW weapon of the Smith line. I still am trying to fathom why Smith dropped it, as it was a best seller!
Guess plastic is the preferred thing nowadays. Dale

I've got one and my wife has the Lady Smith model. They make great carry guns, but we've relegated them to range duty.
Both of us have switched to the M&P line because we find the DA/SA transition to be problematic with the 3913, even with lots of practice. As an old revolver user, I would prefer one of Smith's DAO models.
The muzzle flip with the M&P is noticeably less also. I like the 12+1 capacity of the M&P over the 3913. Still, all in all, it's one of the best carry guns ever made.

Congrats on your 3913!
Yes, it is one of, if not the finest pistol S&W ever made. Perhaps the finest single stack concealable 9mm carry gun made by anyone. Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI

That looks new JR, great job!
I also have a couple;one is the same as yours, one is the tactical version, and the 3rd I got for the wife, which is the LS.
If you don't mind my asking, what did you get it for?

Congratulations! I had mine out Yesterday at the range. For a small gun it is amazingly easy to control and shoots super straight. Not as easy as the 5906 or 4506 but they have a lot more mass to control recoil. But then I can't conceal a 5906 or 4506 like this little gem. Congrats on a great pistol. My wife is very enamored with it too. She carries a Bersa 380 Thunder but I think she may get converted If I could get my hands on a Lady Smith it would be a no brainer. But the last auction I was in for one (last week) it went for $600

Not surprised. I overpaid for my 3913TSW (prerail, short grip) 2 years ago, but am happy I did! Haven't seen one exactly like it locally since then and only a few here and there online. It's been my EDC and anyone who shoots it offers to buy it!

They are exceedingly good guns: Small, but handy and VERY accurate. I just got my custom 3914 back from S&W. While in Springfield, Jim Rae and his Team did the following:
--Made it de-cock only
--Cut the witness hole in the barrel hood
When I got it back, the FedEx truck also brought the spare set of grips from ROBAR. The great folks in The Valley of the Sun stippled the grips.
My wife loves it and has taken it over.

It's kind of hard to make out at that angle, but is that top end all polished? It looks a lot brighter/shinier than mine and others I've seen.
I really like that look if it is. As a matter of fact, I sanded and sanded and buffed and polished one of my 5906's that I got years ago as a police trade-in. I start with 60 grit paper and go all the way up to 3000, which I got from a body shop. (I never knew that they even MADE sandpaper that fine)You always hear, "they usually are only used once a year to qualify, etc....not that one! I figured nothing to lose, it already was rough and I only paid $200 for it.If I really buggered it badly I'd just buy a new slide for it. It came out like a mirror! If I can figure it out I'll post some pics of my 3rd gen family.
Best,
Dave

.45 Fan,
The top end and the controls were Hard Chromed by the previous owner. He also had the action done. She shoots as good as she looks.
I too have a 5906 that I am thinking what to do. It will most likely get a bead blast when she goes back to Springfield, MASS. I replaced the trigger and hammer to contrast. The Ambi Safety gave way to the strong-side lever.
