Default Walther 380 SS?

Anyone have any experience with a Walther 380 SS? My wife wants one and make sure it's worth it before I drop six bills one it.

Well James Bond never misses with his. People in the real world seem to run hot and cold on them though. I've had good luck with the few I've had, although I found the newer S&W produced ones to have sharper edges on them, I do like the extended beavertail on theirs but they need to spend a little more time on the buffer. The heavy trigger pull, failure-to-feed seem to be the biggest complaints. I've never had function issues myself but the heavy trigger is true with both the Interarms and S&W produced ones. They do carry well, but you're seeing 9s' & 40s' now that are comparable in size and less money.

I have the .32, about a year old. Its a 100% reliable weapon. I bought it instead of the .380 as the original design was for .32 not .380. Mine has been very accurate. The .32 round won't lift a line backer off his feet and flip him thru the air several times like some boast about the .45, 44 Mag, 40 S&W .357 Sig etc. but it will do the job for a SD weapon especially as the very minor recoil will have your other 6 rounds coming very quickly. I prefer Seller and Bellot ammo. It seems a little hotter and will shoot thru a 1.5" thick book. Unless she is a pistolero the .380 might be a little hot for her and she will enjoy plinking with the .32 much more, plus the .380 probably has a stronger recoil spring which will make racking the slide a little harder. .

I HAVE A WALTHER PPK/S (INTERARMS) AND I FIND IT TO BE A FINE CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON. IT IS TRUE THAT THEY ARE KNOWN FOR A VERY HARD TRIGGER PULL BUT ONCE YOU GET USED TO IT AND SHOOT A T THE RANGE A FEW TIMES IT HANDLES REAL NICE. I USE CORBON 80 GRAIN DPX HOLLOW POINT WHICH GOES AT 1050FPS ENERGY, I PREFER IT OVER THE S&W WALTHER, SMOOTHER BODY FINISH EVEN THOUGH MOST OF MY WEAPONS ARE S&W, GREAT WEAPONS. MOSTLY 3RD GENERATION GUNS IN SS. IF YOUR WIFE INSISTS ON WALTHER THEN KOOK FOR THE INTERARMS MODEL ON THE WEB SUCH AS GUNBOKER, ARMS LIST, GUMS AMERICA, ETC.

I also have an Interarms PPK/S and it's a great little pistol but I have relegated it to the safe as I prefer something more powerful. If it's what your wife really wants and will have with her, it's the one to get.

I might add that my wife would rather shoot my 45 than the PPK, they do have a sharp recoil with the fixed barrel. I think the little Ruger LCP at half the weight seems to have less.
