Default Help finding holsters my new model 457

Hi all. I have been sifting through the internet looking for accessories; holsters, magazines, sights etc.. for a S&W 457. I am looking for any information on confirmed compatiable holsters that will fit this pistol for CC and OC. I already have a "generic" nylon pancke style, but want to find something that is a little more "custom made" fitting. There has to be something out there that was made for a different make that will fit this one too. If anyone knows of something that actually fits through their own trial and error I would be very grateful for that information.

Edit... I probably should have posted this in the CC/SD forum.
Mike~

From another thread on this forum, I seem to remember that holsters for the more common 4516 will fit. Don Hume has an IWB holster, the 715 will fit. I think the 721 will as well, but I'm not sure. Finally, I'm pretty sure that Mika's Holsters will be able to make a IWB holster for you.

Thank you for the reply sir. I think I may have found a decent iwb holster from Tauga that will fit the bill. Funny, couldn't find it on their site, but fleabay has one of the authorized distributors that has one they say fits. They claim it will fit;
908, 457,4013,4506, 4006,and 4516's. They offer a 14 day return policy so I think I will see if it works for me.

Sig 220 and 229 holsters work well with mine as well as HK USP...
might work for you as well.

His pancake holsters run $33. You're not going to find Ed's quality at double that price. His leather products are usually cheaper than some of the cheap nylon stuff that's out there. Turn around time is about 1 week. Ed uses really heavy leather. The one pictured below he made for me in 1999. I wore it on duty everyday for several years and it's still like the day he made it. His stuff holds its shape. The one on his website with the S&W 63 he made for me a couple of years earlier. It's actually had harder use that the Glock holster below. I wear it when hunting so it's been drug thru all kinds of weather and brush and still looks like new.
You won't be disappointed with his leather. If it's not perfect Ed won't let it leave his shop.
If you decide on Ed and if he doesn't have a mold for a 457 let me know and Ed can borrow mine.

That is a nice looking holster there. I will have check those out today. (I'm the type of person that has to have more than a few holsters for each of my pistols!) I also prefer "level 2" retention, instead of open top. I always worry about the "what ifs" my gun fell out of the open top holsters. I know with a form fitting holster that would be very unlikely to happen. I just prefer to be safer than sorry.

I did order one of these below to check the fit as well. For $29.95 it looks promising...

Try Stoner holsters. Their IWBs are great with the body shield and the reinforced opening. They are reasonably prices and of very high quality. I carry my 457 every day in a Sig 229 holster.

Yes the Sig 229 holsters work great and so do the H&K USP Compact holsters.

Glad to see that the 457 is alive and well... For years my Go To Outfit Company has and still is TED BLOCKER HOLSTER COMPANY . And as were to looking for one since we got the gun new yrs ago its been in the safe.

The nice thing is with Teds stuff you can have it anyway ya want it , I want a thumb brake either traitional or at the trigger guard- I like that one, more natural on the draw- HAS ANYONE EVER LOST UR GUN IN A FIGHT??? POPPED OUT WHILE WRESTLING ON THE GROUND??? THINK ABOUT IT. HAPPENED TO ME!!!

Also he has the best belt clip made will NEVER LET IWB HOLSTER COME OUT WITH GUN!!!!
Ted is located in Oregon. As I'm also, guess it makes it ez for me. But even if I was on the east coast I would still buy from him. Check there website !

That's my 2 cents... Western States Rocked!!!!

Since this thread started I bought a used FIST holster for my 457. I used it for several days on a trip through several southern states and it was very comfortable. The only thing I would change is to have the reinforcement at the top of the holster. The one bought doesn't have it, but the new one I ordered for my 3913 will.

Very comfortable and does a good job concealing and holding the firearm.

I have the 457 in Stainless and the "Uncle Mikes Sidekick" size 15 works great! It also has the extra mag pouch on the side.
