Found a 1066 at a local shop......
...and would like to know more about the model. I'd say the gun is about 90-95%,very light shiny spots on the higher bits ( slide lock, safety, mag release ) .
So my questions are...
What type of box did these come in? What, if any, papers and tools?
And last, what would the gun be worth?
I didn't get a chance to get pics. But I can add some when I go back up. The owner is holding it for me pending a deposit, so I wanted to find out what these are worth and what all came with them before committing to buy it.
Any and all help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated!

I just picked up a 1006. Great shooting gun but mags are $80-$100 and holster options are limited. Midway has mag springs/followers. I got mine in today and they are spot on for rebuilding mags.
best of luck to you.

They were made 1990-1992 and (5067) are reported to have be produced.
Should have come in a blue cardboard box with the matching SN# label on it. No tools, (2) mags with white followers, an owner's manual which covered all the centerfire semi-autos, warranty card,& maybe a chamber flag.
What are they asking for it?

Well, it's in a plastic S&W box, the kind with egg crate type foam, has 2 mags and the owners manual. No stickers on the box. He told me he'd let me have it for $550 cash OTD. I figured it was a decent price for the shape of it, but wanted to do some research in case I was mistaken.

I paid $750 2 years ago for mine... that's California pricing, which is higher due to the scarcity of them here, caused by the in's and out's of our CA handgun purchasing laws. No box, but it came with 2 additional mags in addition to the one in the gun.
I say... what are you waiting for?? These days, $550 OTD is a good price for any non LE [trade in] 3rd gen pistol... let alone a 1066.

I LOVE ours--our first 3rd Gen, we wanted to see what the fuss was about-and my do I understand. Beautiful shooting pistol. Extremely well built. Frankly it amazes me that the polymer craze occurred with pistols like that on the market. It is truly a revolver lover's pistol if you know what I mean. You are just paying $350 for it--mags alone are worth $200 easy.

Go and buy it now. That is a racehorse price. If you decide you don't like it, any number of folks on this board will take it off your hands at a profit.

Good guns but price of mags are a big turn off for me. I would have to spend double the price of the gun just to buy mags. Instant turn off for me

The gun should come with 2 mags...
2 mags are not "worth $200" but some pay that much...

I just bought a 1xx6 mag from dotdsd334 here on the forum. He was selling them $70 apiece or $65 each if you bought a few. He had a bunch of them.
One company had all the pieces for around $55 each plus shipping. I haven't tried that route, but when I called, all the p/n's were in stock. I'll try and find out who it was(wasn't Midway).

It was Numrich. Now they are showing the butt plate catch and spring out of stock. I don't know if I just got lucky when I looked before, or if it's something frequently restocked.
