saw a couple of videos on a guy making a slide racker out of Al, but i think he had better tools than I. Anyone have any ideas about how to fab one up?
I was thinking a good piece of black Delrin, cut a little less than the back flat portion of side, but extending out as a racker would, rounding off the sharp corners and then 10 ton epoxying it to the slide...??? don't know if that would take the pounding, the epoxy i mean...JB weld? then i was thinking about all the extra scope rings and bases that i have.
you could slip one that was big enough over the slide then tighten as normal, would have to be a big base though and then you would have to fashion a handle to it to rack it. the C-More railway i have on the 22a-1 that has the full pict rail on it, makes it pretty tough to grab hold of those serrations.
i don't really wand to drill into the slide, counter sink holes on the inside of the back, thread, tap and put a piece of Al on it to hold on like that.
wonder if the extra weight would have any effect on ejection. if you went with the lightest delrin it is light but solid or a good piece of Al.
Any ideas could help us all, now take off the tin foil hats and put on your thinking caps!!!!
