This model is one of my CCW pieces. Ran it thru it's paces for a long time before deciding on using it. Had to be up to standards so to speak. I carried a Sig 228 and a 229 on duty for over 10 years and I consider it as reliable as one of those..Like the caliber of course and the control with Big Dog grips makes it a breeze and a pleasure to shoot..all5x

After many years of use and many hundreds of rounds fired, my CS45 has yet to let me down.

A well regarded and highly coveted piece. It listed at over $850 from SW back in its production run. Very well made but cheaper plastic pistols proved to be its (and other similar alloy models) undoing.

Great gun, not easy to come by and won't be cheap unless you're really lucky. A little snappy. Plus one on the Big Dog grips.

If the price and condition suit you, buy it. They are great guns IMO. Some don't seem to care much for them for a variety of reasons but most CS owners (myself included) treasure theirs. They are compact, well made and utterly dependable.

I just picked up today a CS45 stainless in perfect condition for two reasons:
1. Wanted a 45 ACP non-1911 carry gun and love 3rd gen smiths
2. Number of my customers have wanted me to make holsters for it.

I will be shooting it tomorrow.

Big Dog grips are the made from the hard plastic Delrin grips typically found on the 3rd gens. They are thinner, smoother, don't grab on clothing and make for better concealability. They're actually pretty popular for the CS guns. Do a search on the forum. They're about a $100 bucks. Might have to wait a bit for them.

How'd ya do at the range? It's always a pleasure when I get mine out for a spin. Please count me as one of your (future) customers who would LOVE one of your fine holsters for this great little brick! Specifically looking for something IWB/OWB for MOB carry.

'coz in St. Paul
