Boresnake for 9mm
Have any of you used the hoppe's boresnakes for the 9mm? Or for rifles and shotguns for that matter? Work well enough to buy?

Yep, the newer ones are called "VIPERS" and have more brush area.
Some people buy rifle length ones and use on their pistols. The price is close but the rifle one is several times as long for much more cleaning action length.

Thats exactly what I do, use the rifle bore snakes in the pistols. I think they work good but I always go back and clean it using the traditional tools about every third shooting session. I just purchased the Otis cleaning system and looking forward to trying the flexiable cable out.

I have the 9, 40, & 44/45 cal. I run them thru right after I have finished shooting a gun or in between if I am shooting a large quantity. I highly recomend them

bore snakes
I use the 40 caliber in the cylinder of a 357 mag revo. I use a 9 mm for
the bore. This really reduces cleaning time.
I really do like them.

What caliber rifle bores ale do you use for 9mm? I'm looking to get bores make for .30-06, .22lr & 12ga shotgun. Would be nice to have one of these do double duty.

Works great. No unpleasant aftertaste.

I've used one for years on my HK, it's a good quick clean, but I would do a full cleaning every 400 rounds or so.
Typoed on my iPhone.

I use them right after I have been to the range. But I use the traditional method when I want to give them a really good cleaning. In revolvers the forcing cone and the cylinder etc require direct attention.

The one listed for a .357 rifle, part 24018. Happy cleaning!

i still have a regular cheapo universal cleaning kit from walmart but I have a boresnake for each caliber of gun. for a deeper clean i'll run the rods and brushes first then instead of finishing by jamming clean cotton pads (that I don't have very many of) i'll just run the boresnake to finish it off.
