I have just purchased my 5th sw 5906. The wording and etching on this particular pistol is completely different from all the rest of my other pistols.There is only etching (wording) on the right side of the pistol and the left side is blank. The pistol's serial # begins with BDK does anyone know if this is a law enforcement or military designation? I have never seen a 5906 like this before. Thanks, rhw500

Sorry for the zombie thread resurrection guys. I picked up a 5906 today with the BDK pre and that same weird lettering so anything on a manufacture date?

BDK prefixes are 2006 produced guns. The last guns actually had lower prefixes than the first guns.

Thanks confirms my suspicion that this was a very late gun. It's a solid 90%+ and the price of $375 was right so---.
