Model 59 stainless/alloy????
Just acquired a very interesting S&W 59 today. It is a stainless slide w/ novaks front and rear,(both dovetailed into the slide). The frame is a matte nickle alloy. The grips are the 3 piece matte plastic with blue screws. Barrel is high gloss chrome. No mag saftey and 14 rd.(nickle?) with flat black floorplate w/ old style S & (The & is exaggerated) W logo. Guess I should call Smith w/ the serial#.It is an A prefix. No box.Traded for it at a value of 400.00. Even if it's not authentic It shoots great (I can hardly wait to get to the range when I buy a Smith). The dealer is one I know is very honest and I use to work for. He seems to believe it was factory with maybe an over run of the nickle frames as the stainless were top and bottom all steel. Man I love this stuff!!! Any replies appreciated.

Sounds as if it has been highly customized, and I very much doubt it's any sort of production variation. The later style trigger guard may well have been grafted on. You really need to post some photos of this one.

Sr. I am trying to find a .22hornet revolver in this forum, Here in Brazil I heard about that the SW have a revolver that you can change the cylinders , it comes with 3 cylinders. the .22 lr + .22 Magnum and the .22 hornet.
Is that true? Where can I find?
PS sorry for the poor english, it has 15 years since I lived in North Dakota

Not just SEALs, but a lot of covert types and police looking for cut down versions of the 39 and 59. Plus I believe Devel built quite a few ASPs too. Dale

There was an aftermarket steel frame sold for Model 59s. See this thread: Stainless Steal Framed 39?????? Need Advice/Info
Also, Devel and ASP were two different companies. They each had their own versions of cut-down Smith auto pistols.

Not sure on the frame with the hooked trigger guard, the BII frames had a 1911 style trigger guard, but it sounds like you have a third gen slide retrofitted to a first gen pistol...easy to tell if you remove the slide and look at it from the bottom it should be cut for both the mag safety and firing pin safety....post pics
