Default new from the Ozarks - Model 22A question

My first S&W, a model 22A, is reliable with all ammo, great trigger and balance in my hand. From a sand bag rest I can manage a two inch group, but they are seven inches high at 25 yards. That makes it mighty hard to hit the pesky Armadillos we are plagued with in these parts. Yes, the rear sight is all the way down. I am sure someone may have had the same problem and a suggestion short of sending it back to the factory would be appreciated.

Well you could go with a scope or Red Dot. Most of the 22As' have the front sight made right into the top rail so it can't be replace with a taller one. Short of sending it into S&W your only other option would be to try different velocity ammo, but I don't think it would make up that kind of adjustment needed.

Welcome from Texas oldswede-75. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

The Red Dot could be your best alternative.

I appreciate your responses to my 22-A sighting problem. I'll be shopping for a Red Dot. When properly sighted I am sure to raise the stress level of the pesky Armadillos. And thanks to the Forum.
