5906, what spare parts are good to have?
Now that I have been infected with the S/S S&W bug, what spare parts are good to have?
Thanks!

I feel like everyone should have a few recoil springs, slide stop plunger and plunger springs, and spare mags or at least spare mag springs on hand. Any feeding problems arise, replace the springs and try a different mag.

TRIGGER BARS DO CRACK. I'VE SEEN A FEW IN ALL CALIBERS CRACK. FIRING PIN SPRINGS BREAK. MOST DAMAGE TO THE S&W AUTOS ARE CAUSED BY NOT CHANGING THE RECOIL SPRING IN A TIMELY FASHION. JIM P

The nice thing about the 5906 (and most other S&W semiautos) is that so many were made that the recoil springs and magazine springs will be available from Wolff's for a very long time.

The only thing I ever, EVER broke on a S&W 3rd gen was the ejector. I didn't know it was broken till I found the piece in the bottom of a magazine. Still ran fine, but I keep a few spares around now.

The recoil springs on a CS 9 are so unique, the first thing I did (in fact the day I bought the pistol) was order three from Midway. I think ordering some spares for any Third Generation pistol from them or Wolff would be money well spent.

I agree with this approach wholeheartedly, the best spare part for a 5906 is another 5906
