Question 22A questions and comments

I recently bought a 22A and love it. It is a blast to shoot, much more so than the Ruger Standard auto it replaced.

It has worked flawlessly with all ammo that is has been fed, hollow point or round nose.

The rail above the trigger guard looks like a track is being cut into it by the slide. Is this normal or a problem waiting to happen?

Does it hurt the mag springs if they are stored loaded?

I also have a 22A and think it is the best thing since sliced bread. I have heard from a lot of people that keeping a spring under tension will not hurt it. Supposedly the thing that wears out springs is the movement of them when they are compressed and released. I think I have passed the 7000 round mark with my 22A and I always leave the magazines loaded.
