Reason Not to buy 39-2
I've found another blued 39-2 in very good (could say excellent) condition.
$350 --1 Mag, No box included.
I need a reason not to buy it. If I purchase this gun, it will deplete my "gun" money. Is $350 a good price? Its a local buy, so no other costs will be incurred.
I have a problem, where I buy guns with intentions of reselling & swapping & trading. The problem is, I end up keeping everything I buy!

$350 all in for a 39-2 in excellent condition is a darn good price. As you know; they look great, feel great, shoot great. "Gun money" could be spent in far worse ways. I believe these guns hold their value well and there is more demand for them now than in the recent past. You said "found another". If that means you currently own one or more, then it may be a bit easier to use the lesser condition one for trading fodder. Remember that 9mm ammo is currently the cheapest readily available centerfire pistol ammo. Another reason these 39s are attractive. Good luck.

Yes. I own a 39-2 that is in pristine condition. It's too pretty and too good of a shooter to just let sit in my safe. that's why I want another. It needs a companion.
I also want a 3913 to go with them..

It will fling your very best brass into the gooiest mud puddle in the county! Any decent revolver will treat your cases with more respect.
Besides, it’s not the time of year for a parent to be buying toys for themselves. Buying now may put you in the seller’s position in a another month.

Here is a reason not to buy it. I don't know about your son, but if my Dad was thinking about buying me a gun, no matter what it was, it would make me extremely happy. My Dad has bought me one gun so far, an M&P 9c, and no matter what happens, I will never sell it. It might not be a collectable gun or a metal gun for that matter, but every time I look at or shoot that gun, it reminds me of him. So, if I were you, I would take that money and use it on a layaway (if possible) for that black gun & don't look back. Trust me, there will be other Model 39's.

Because then I cannot buy it!
Don't buy it, tell me where it is and I will save you the money.
No need to thank me!

@Navarre . My son will inherit more guns than he will know what to do with. I've already bought him a few, and his maternal grandfather has a pretty good collection and my wife is an only child.
He wants a black gun so he can send me to the poor house buying ammo for him The way he rationalizes the purchase is, in his on words, "You spend twice as much on clothes for sister". Pretty smart thinking for a 14 year old
the guy called and said if I'd come pick it up tonight, he'd drop the price some more..
guess i'm taking a roadtrip tonight.

Great gun. According to the pics, that appears to be in very nice condition. You did well. Congrats.

No reason not to buy one. If you don't already have one, get it. If you already have one, get another one.

Vry nice. When S&W made the 39 they sort of screwed up. They have decades of auto loaders to design, build an sell.. But they produced one of the nicest auto loaders right out of the barrel. They made it a hard act for themselves to follow. I just love the modle39 with the single stack, full size barrel and those great wood stocks. It's a tremendous buy! Congrats again!

Good decision! Now you and your son, and perhaps your daughter will have the joy of shooting the same model together, and with reasonably priced ammo to boot. Only downside is the kids can bruise one's ego when they kick *** at the range. Hey; it's happened to me with each of my two early 30's sons. I tried telling them to focus on the target, not the sights, but that dog didn't hunt. Have fun with your kids.
