Not trying to start a flame war here, but I'm curious what you think. I am a big S&W Revolver guy obviously but I was raised on 1911's as well so I find myself preferring the GLOCK trigger. Shot an HK45(c) recently with the LEM trigger and liked it a lot too. Based on personal preference, I'd have to place the S&W third after those two. What are your thoughts on these triggers?

I have both M&P and Glocks. The Glocks have stock triggers that have a long smooth pull and break at 5.5# give or take an oz. The stock trigger M&P has a long and gritty pull that breaks a couple of oz, over 6.5#. I'll take a stock Glock trigger over the stock M&P. The M&Ps grips are more ergonomic and feel better.

GEN 3 Glock grip works for me. I agree M&P changeable grips work better for other folks. I also think that the GEN 4 GLOCK interchangable grips are lame, poor effort on their part.

To address the triggers, I have owned both the Glock 22 & 23, which overall were fine handguns and currently have an M&P 40 std. size (no HK's). The Glocks in my opinion have the edge in the trigger department, with a smoother pull and a short crisp reset. Stock triggers go to the Glock. However, I just could not get past the Glock grip angle and I tried for YEARS to do so, but alas no dice. I like the M&P more overall based on design, ergos, a fully supported case and it is a USA handgun, which combined wins in my book overall. I hear that APEX makes a trigger that addresses the M&P trigger, but I will keep mine stock. Up next the M&P40c!

I own all 3 but my M&P has the Apex upgrades. I did own 2 other M&Ps that were all stock. Based on my personal experience I'd go with my HK USP9 with the LEM trigger, Glock, M&P. The trigger on the M&Ps have always felt a little mushy and springy to me. In dry firing I could feel the spring vibration in my finger when the firing pin was released (hope that makes sense).

If you were comparing the other HK trigger I'd have to go with Glcok, M&P, HK

I dont find stock Glocks to have a bad trigger at all. If you want to get an idea of how an HK without the LEM trigger feels andall you have is the LEM do this. Rack the slide to activate the LEM trigger, dry fire, and dry fire again but this time without racking the slide. The trigger becomes much heavier. Thats pretty much the standard HK trigger. What the LEM trigger takes away is the thumb safety/decocker lever. On some models you can use the thumb safety and carry like a 1911

The M&P has a lousy gritty spongy trigger with no distinct reset. I've yet to shoot one that had a decent trigger. Therefore I won't consider it. Regards 18DAI.

Edited to add: The Walther PPQ has the best trigger of any striker fired plastic gun I've ever shot. Short, smooth with a crisp break and a distinct reset.

It sure sounds like Apex would go out of business if S&W improved the M&P trigger. Is there like an automatic secondary purchase when you buy a M&P?

I have no problem with my Glock's trigger or grip. My 3rd Gen S&Ws do have a smoother trigger, and my El Cheapo CZ-82 trigger is better than all of them. But for some reason, I don't shoot any of them better or worse than the others. Since I'm not capable of putting 8-12 rounds in a single hole at 15-25 yards, apparently the trigger has little influence on me.

I have both, and actually prefer the M&Ps trigger to the Glock. It seems smoother and crisper to me. I have heard all the gritty, long, mushy stories, too. Maybe I just got a good one.

Stock, Glock from those choices. Almost as good as a PPQ.
