Default Mod 4046 TSW question

I picked up a police trade-in 4046 TSW this weekend. When I was cleaning it, I noticed a cutout in the barrel/chamber that none of my other Gen 3 pistols have. I assume it is a visual indicator of a loaded chamber, but I wanted to check here to see if that's what it really is. It took me by surprise as I've never seen that on any pistol I've ever had my hands on. I've got a brass cased round in the chamber and the rim can clearly be seen in the chamber.

Yes, it's a loaded chamber indicator. I have several TSW's in various calibers and they all have that feature.

I only have one TSW and it doesn't have the loaded chamber indicator...

I suspected the reason was to visually verify a loaded chamber - especially since this was a police trade-in.

...I still have to get used to seeing that cutout in the end of the chamber!

Now all I have to do is get the night sights re-lamped.
