1006 BNIB ***Arrived!***

I was browsing around online and I happened upon a BNIB 1006 all papers, unfired. My wonderful wife gave me the all clear to buy so I did and I just can't wait to get the beast. The lady I am purchasing it from said she has had quite a few sitting in the store tucked away from grubby hands since 1991 and she does intend to sell more but does NOT want to flood the market with them-PM me if you want to be pointed in the right direction:) at 830 bones shipped for a BNIB I think it was more than fair. Pics coming soon and a range report will follow!

Picked up the 1006 and wow is all I can say! Hard to believe that this poor pistol has been sitting unfired in the box for 22 years starving for oil. Detail stripped it for a good cleaning and lube, now it's ready for the range I can't wait to see how she shoots. If it wears in and loosens up like my 4566 and is as accurate,I might just have to take her on a hog hunt!

Did you buy it from Lawmens Supply? I bought my 1006 NIB from Stephanie in November and I love it. Now I hope she can come up with some more 3rd gen Smiths. Can't say ewnough good trhings about dealing with these people.

she have any 40 tsws?

Congratulations! Your wife is very kind.

$830 is a fair price for a NIB 1006. Wish I had the money to spare right now!

I bought my NIB 1006 from them also back in August. Great company to deal with. They alway have new 3rd gen Smiths on Gunbroker. Do a search for seller LawmensShootersSupply

Now if you need extra mags, get them from MidwayUSA, almost always in stock for $33 each. If they are on backorder, they always arrive sooner than they say.

Lucky dog...great find on a great gun.
Get a 1076, you will love it too.

Why yes it is from Lawmens shooter supply! Stephanie was super nice and easy to deal with.

Nice find!

Funny how they keep "finding" these 1006 pistols. They've been using that same tired "I found them on a shelf in the back of the store" story for years now, and every time they do, they have another 10 or 12 to sell. Last batch they "found" went for $750 per pistol.

Guess I'll have to wait until their supply finally dries up for good before I can sell mine. Which is a good thing in the long run, because prices will only go UP.

Without pics it didn't happen!

I have an unfired one in the box too. I actually went out and bought a well used one so I wouldn't feel guilty shooting it!

it is really hard to tell what is new and what is not unless you look at the side of the serial number. They have a factory etched number which is sort of outlined a little from the factory stamping. The thing I look for when examining someones claim on a new 3rd gen.

Yeah, I didn't mean to rain on 1911heaven's parade, he got a good deal on a great gun. It's just that this isn't the first time Lawmen's has "found" 1006's. They either bought a whole bunch of them years ago and held on to them for investment purposes, or they're getting them from *somewhere*. Every time I think the supply of new 1006's has dried up, these guys show up with 10 more.

Awesome find! I wish someone would find a stash of NIB 4513s!

I think they have a time machine.

Someone please post the contact info for Lawmens Supply or send me a PM. Search turned up several and I want to make certain I have the correct info.

I asked the seller over the phone where she got all these 1006's and she told me she had purchased them in 1991 and they were not a huge seller so she hung on to them all 11 of them. She also stated that she didn't want to flood the market like the seller of all the 915's seen on gbroker. Mine is definitely nib no question. It is very stiff and has never been detail stripped because that is the first thing I did. Minor surface spot rust here and there on drum, sear, and backsides of decocking levers. Also had factory oil that was sticky and thick on all parts.the spec ord puts its manufacture date may 23rd 1990 (0143) since that was not a leap year. Also got all tingly inside fondling the wax paper it and the spare mag were wrapped in:)

In these days I am test shooting mod. 1006. I have had several european pistols, but this is 1st S&W pistol. What things should I check more carefully, and what kind of grouping i can wait to 25 meters range.....and what kind of handload will be the best?
Here in my country 10 mm auto ammo is difficult to find, so need handloading all.

Shadow1006 01-13-2013 01:45 PM

You may want to consider a recoil spring swap, not that the 18lb factory is bad, but changing to a Wolff Gunsprings 22lb may keep you brass for achieving Low Earth Orbit! With a factory 18 lb I found some brass to be almost 30' to the right rear of the shooting position, some where never found! :(

Congrats and good luck with yours!

Wish they'd come up with some 3913's!

Nice score, OP!

Bought mine from LawmensShootersSuppy back in August 2012, it did not say it was NIB however had all the paperwork, bought it for $795.00.

When It came in I found that it WAS NIB, still have the inspection # sticker on the slide. I was very surprised and excited. It has been to the range several time and shoots great.

Yep mine had that brown inspection sticker too. Did you detail strip yours? Found that mine had minor amount of surface rust specs from sitting cleaned and all is well just recently took to range very powerful!used 200gr fmj probably will add some spare hogues I have laying around that I didn't like on 4566.

sw44spl 03-27-2013 01:12 AM

very good deal you got.I want one so bad and have for years. I gave up looking for one and just got a Glock 20 for$499 4 weeks ago.it is sure a dead on gun. I hope to find a 1006 oneday.
