Price gouging will continue - until things "politically" settle down. I am personally holding off buying hi-cap magazines right now until, I saw a great deal on CDNN for 11 rd mag's in 40 cal for 11.99.
In a worse case scenario - Mec-gar's SIG P226 mags fit 5903/4/6 with a mod to the cut out "catch". You'll need to hold them up together and precisely measure the "groove spot" where the catch is and cut a new groove.

Watch the Accessories for Sale forum and you should be able to pick a couple up for fair prices.
I went from having only one to now having 8, and paid less than $30 each.
Sellers on the forum for the most part have been pretty fair with their pricing on in demand items.

If it's an auction site and the buyers run it up you sure can't blame the seller. It is a little silly to spend that kind of money on a magazine though.

It's Incredible, isn't it? I saw a 4013TSW on Guns America
that they are trying to get $899 for. NIB? No. Original box,
numbered to the gun? No. A bunch of extras? No, just one
magazine. I emailed the seller & they were willing to come down
maybe $100. Admittedly, this is one of my most holiest of
Grail guns, but no box, one magazine $799? As bad as my 3rd
Genitis affliction is, I can most definitely pass!

I have put a hold on particular purchases until it calms down. I have what I need to get by for now.

i am not blaming the sellers at all, i just don't under stand why people are going batty over everything. but what does bother me is after everything blows over how far will the price go down? i have a bad feeling that things will never go down to where they were befor this started. everything from ammo to firearms to reloading supplyes will cost us alot more... just what the anti's want, making this sport, hobby to costly to enjoy....

I see your point, but I think(And hope!)the opposite will happen.
As the demand slows down, the availability will increase. If more
people are trying to sell the same thing, they will start undercutting each other to sell more, & then prices will stabilize. Supply & demand! I'm not an economics expert &
I don't even play one on TV, so just my opinion

I hate to say this, but I'm not holding my breath that anything about the 2a is going to "blow over". NY set the stage and those people living there have an uphill battle ahead of them.

I wasn't into firearms back in '93 just before that ban went into effect, but one thing is for certain, the mentality of those that experienced that have an apparent different attitude about this time around.

If you aren't doing anything productive to help insure our legislators know where we stand because you think it's going to "blow over", then don't complain when they actually pass something in the dark of night.

Will the prices come back down, maybe. Will nothing happen, maybe. But one thing is for sure, until this actually does "blow over", I won't be telling people it will because NONE of us knows for fact what is going to happen.

Pay an inflated price because of demand and have it now for sure, OR, don't and hope that everything comes back down. In any case, do your part to make sure these people know where we stand.

i guess saying ''blows over'' was not a good choise of words to use, what i ment was, when things cool down and hopefully we can over turn some of the pitfalls we are or might encounter in the future. i do understand that we as recreational shooters have very difficult task ahead.

I listed some , AR bolt carrier groups I had on GB last week. I bought them for $50-$70 each, a few were like new, a few were used. All of them more than serviceable and useable.

They each brought more than I paid for all four together! I was amazed. But...allowed me to pay the savings account BACK for the M-52 I bought last month.

Certainly a sellers market now, but it IS calmiing down. Or maybe the folks buying the 10X overpriced items finally saw their VISA bills?

The UNCERTAINTY out there contributes to the hysteria as well. Will my AK/AR be reclassified as an NFA weapon? The hi cap mags I already OWN...can I keep them? Can I sell them?

Crazy times for sure.
