Default Pictures of newest Model 59

First Generation S&W 9mm hi-cap double action joins the herd.

I'll have to post some photos later but I just bought another nickle plated Model 59 pistol. This has the checkered wood stocks; the other one I bought has the black composite/plastic stocks. I haven't shot it yet; came with two factory magazines, no box, no papers; $400 out the door.

Here's some photos of the newest addition, a nickle plated 59 to go with the other one I already have:

Here are the pair:

the walnut stocked gun looks to be re-nickeled; the lettering, especially the Made in U.S.A./Marcas Registradas/Smith & Wesson/Springfield, MA mark is not as crisp as on the other gun; and the hammer, trigger, and safety are also nickeled but on the other gun they blued. The black stocked gun's s/n is A374xxx and the other is A382xxx.

Thats a nice pair. I believe the walnut stock gun is a re-finish. S&W didn't nickel plate hammers/triggers/safety's/slide stops/sights on auto's. Still a very nice looking pistol. I wish I could acquire a set of those stocks....Both have a production date of 1976-77
