thanks in advance for any help in getting some info about my 38.
Ok on
left side barrel: smith & wesson
right side barrel: 38 s.& w. special ctg.
bottom handle butt: c 302608
on inside if open bullet drum: nothing
behind drum right side: circle with S and a W atop each other. atop circle word "trade" under it "reg. u.s. pat. of" is all can read.
wooden handle grips with silver s&w symbol at top of them.
it is a 6 shot.
right side between drum and trigger: MADE IN U.S.A.

Pre-Model 10. They call it that because in 1957, that model became the Model 10. It's also called a .38 M&P (Military & Police). Yours was born around 1955. If you're interested in its value, we'll need to see some pictures. The ballpark is very wide, $150.00 all the way to $600.00. Condition is everything. Cheers.
