What is the equivalent S&W to a
Ruger LC9?
There are none around here that I can find & maybe a S&W would do?

I would think that a 9mm shield would be as close as you could come. However they will be as hard to find as a LC9

By equivalent if you mean 3rd Gen and mag capacity then the S&W CS9, a few ounces heavier and can be had in DAO with no frame safety, if that's what you want. Or the DA/SA with a safety. Otherwise construction wise the Shield.

Kimber solo
Sig p938
Baretta Nano

The Kahr CM9 or CW9 are nearly the same price point the LC9 is. Either will give you a far better trigger than the LC9 and the CM9 being somewhat smaller is easier to conceal.
