Default Mid 80's S&W 1911s

Today I put on layaway 2 mid 80's S&W 1911s NIB NEVER fired with consecutive serial numbers. I am hoping someone on here can point me to someinformation on these guns. Since there is not a single gun in my house that is not a shooter I seriously doubt the will remain unfired for very long.

Did some research & it appears S&W did not make a 1911 in the mid 80's, could be a 4506?

Maybe 745's and the dealer thinks they are 1911's.

Yeah, not to be a jerk, but I think I would want to know what I'm buying. I think a responsible gun owner should know what they are purchasing if for no other reason so they know if they are skilled enough to handle same. Maybe it is just me.
