That's a pretty good deal. I bought an as new in the box 4586TSW and it cost me north of $800.

What a great gun. You will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Default Fire without magazine inserted?

Just out of curiosity, does it fire without the magazine inserted?

I picked up one -- almost exactly like that in the same condition -- that fires without the magazine inserted...

Never seen one like that before -- and am curious whether anyone else has seen one....

(It has laser engraving on the right side to that effect -- and has the same wording as FBI 1076s...)

Mine appears to be unfired -- and I haven't shot it yet myself...And it cost just shy of what 4506517's did...)

Default Check the right side of the slide...

If it doesn't say "Caution: Capable of firing with magazine removed" on the right hand side, it almost certainly has the magazine disconnector and disengages when you drop the mag...

(But, as always, for newbies and everybody else, we all have to PRESUME the gun will fire -- and may have a round in the chamber that may discharge -- until we check...It's also always possible somebody removed the magazine disconnector -- and DIDN'T have it written on the side)

Wow! That's the first time I've ever seen the "decocking lever" lasering.

The writing is similar and in the same spot. But mine says, "Caution: Capable of firing with magazine removed."

Great price. I own the 1086 same gun but in 10mm. I love shooting it. I love the short double action trigger. I would love to find a 4586 to go with my 1086. Enjoy it.

I had a 4586 that was the smoothest 3rd gen pistol I ever handled. The slide felt like it was on ball bearings. I foolishly sold it like I have many others when I became interested in 1911s. Enjoy yours it looks like a nice one.
