Model 915 Extended Mag release?
Newbie here.
I like my 915, but would like a little bit more on the mag release button, just a smidge longer.
Cant locate one.
Is there something similar/ different model/ modification etc?
Appreciate all comments
Thanks
Brion

The Performance Center made two different ones, one was just taller. The other was oversized used on the 745. You might be able to get one from the PC or Numrich gun parts.

I am not sure the Value Series used the same type of mag catch as did the other 3rd Gen pistols. For some reason, I thought that series used a pop-on button as opposed to the threaded one. I am not sure they interchange, so I guess I would direct you to actually talk to one of the technicians (not necessarily all customer service people are as experienced as the actual gunsmiths) in the Performance Center.

The 915 was sort of a transitional model to the Value Line. It still had all metal parts, so you may be able to get something extended.
Here's a pic of mine ready for disassembly.

Just received the mag release for a 745 and installed it on my old 5906.
I ordered it from Midway. It was initially on back order and I had to wait about a month. Big difference from the original. See the pics on the previous post of the 5945.

Hi 5906guy I just purchased my first 5906 and was looking into an extended mag release and came across your post about you Buying one on midway & putting it on your 5906, was the midway mag release in black or silver? Their website shows black was just curious before I ordered one? And is any modifications needed or the threads will match up to 5906 mag release?
Thanks in advance

I just unscrewed the mag release button a bit on my 915, which works fine. I can release the mag much more easily, and it seems to stay put just like it did before. I've thought about getting a 745 extended release if it will fit.

I have a 915 and a 39-2, and a friend has a 410. The 915 is definitely more related to the 39.
My understanding is that the 915 is basically a 5904, with less machining on the frame and without an ambidextrous safety (although you can swap it out), and can take 5906 parts and barrels. I also read that the sights are different, but that's a non-issue for me since the prior owner put Trijicons on mine. It also has stainless slide release and safety, I assume from a 5906.

After reading some of the above replies, I decided to try switching the mag release buttons between my 745 and 915. They are interchangeable with one caveat: the grip on the 915 needs to relieved a little more to allow the larger head on the 745's button to clear. Thanks for the help.
