Smith& Wesson in movies and TV
I see this on other gun forums all the time about Glocks, 1911s and Berettas. Lets do it for this forum. I'll start:
Miami Vice (TV): Crockett's 645/4506 and 6906
Training Day: Double 4506s
2 Guns: 4506
The Shield: Mackey's 4506 and .38 spl back-up
Diry Harry: 629 .44 Magnum
Hawaii 5 O (New TV Series): Chin Ho Kelly 5906 (1st season)
Southland: Cooper's 5906
Bad Boys: Martin Lawrence's 4506 and 6906
That is off the top of my head. Your turn. Roll that beautiful bean footage...............

Dark Blue. Kurt Russell used a 4506-1, late production with laser etched markings and adjustable sights. He also had a 4566 or 4516 as his BUG.
Hollywood Homicide. Harrison Ford had an early production 4566 with aftermarket night sights. Regards 18DAI

"American Gangster", Josh Brolin (Detective Trupo) 3" Model 19. First one that I had ever seen, I immediately posted on the forum if they made such a thing, and Doc replied that they did, and that he had once tried to buy one, but the owner didn't accept his offer. Also, "The Mummy", Hammer Production, Peter Cushing shot the mummy with a Webley "at four yards", didn't seem to bother the mummy very much. Thats my contribution to the cause. DLB

Was watching pineapple express last night and jumped for the controller when I saw a couple of smiths at the end of the movie. Seth Rogen grabs a nicked 539 I believe and James Franco grabs a 3913NL!

A great website for this is Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games It is the Internet Movie firearms database. You can search just about any kind of firearm. It lists the movies/shows and the characters who used them

I've always thought that Jamie Lee Curtis has masculine features. And she lacks talent. If her parents weren't actors, she'd be selling shoes. And at that, Tony Curtis was beyond overrated. He was grossly inferior to the King of Cool, Steve McQueen.

I don't watch a lot of cop movies because most are highly unrealistic. Wind River was just plain stupid. The scene in which the female FBI agent told cops to lower their guns while bad guys had theirs pointed at them was stupidity at an all time extreme. Cops would never hand an insurmountable tactical advantage to bad guys by lowering their weapons. In actuality, she'd of probably been fired However, one of my favorite all time Movies is the original Dirty Harry. Clint Eastwood was just plain cool to the fullest extent of the concept. Clint Eastwood made the Model 29 popular. But the movie was more than mere action. It was conservatism vs. liberalism. The scene in which Dirty Harry told two girly men (the DA and a judge) that law that protected Scorpio (Scorpio was the real Zodiac killer) at the expense of a child's life was crazy portended the dominance of suspects' illegitimately created rights over victims' authentic right to life, and in Dirty Harry, the victim without rights was a 14 year-old child. In the end, Scorpio learned of the deadly resolve of Dirty Harry to arrange a meeting of Scorpio and a .44 Rem Mag bullet.
Dirty Harry tops my ranking of cop movies for many reasons, dialogue being a huge one.

Strangely enough, "Carol Burnett and Friends" show...
has what is probably a 3913 on staff, as Carol was holding the pistol during a
comedic/dramatic scene and "shot" Harvey Korman with it
Was watching an episode on tv the other night and went "HEY! that's a Smitty in her hand!"

More 29 Appearances
Lee Marvin carried a M-29 in "Point Blank" four years before Dirty Harry.
Nick Nolte got his M-29 stolen from him by crooks in "48 Hours"
Neither as cool as Harry Callaghan, but fun to watch.

Not fiction, but the other night I was watching an older episode of "The First 48" and the weapon used in the homicide was a 2nd Gen. I thought it said "Model 649" on the frame in the close up, but since it was black and not stainless/alloy, it must have been a 669.
On a lot of the older episodes, the officers are carrying 3rd Gens.

really? S&W in movies? i am trying to remember a film with guns, that did not have a Smith and Wesson in it for as long as the tv exists. on the contrary, i can even remember lines that had to do with this great company-product. "the only collateral i ever brought to a bank was Smith and Wesson."(669 Johnny Handsome), "they call me Schofield kid because i have a Schofield" (the unforgiven) and of course Dirty Harry, "who is we, cop?" "Smith, Wesson, and I." also in lyrics, ERB of the world, (Beethoven vs Justin Bieber), "Ask Bach, I got more cock than Smith & Wesson" John Bon Jovi, (You really got me now), "my old friends Smith and Wesson think you are in over your head."
so, back to my original point, while in other forums try to see where their favorite guns made star appearances, lets in this forum make a very short list of movies where there was not a S&W shown.

The "Perry Mason" series has been showing lately and the snub-nose revolver used to commit the crime is usually a Model 36. You can see the S&W medallion inset in the top of the wood grips.

Harrison Ford in the Original Star Wars (1977) had em all beat with that Red 9 Mauser based lazer blaster which was really a Smith & Wesson, Model XYZ-no dash of course.....yet to be brought into commercial production.
My kids had 3 or 4 of these and if you don't believe they are "collector" guns...just peruse Flea-Bay for a few moments.

#1 of all time.
"That's a Smith and Wesson, and you've had your six."
