Full Size S&W 1911 Serial #

I am going to look at a Full Size S&W 1911 45 Cal. this week. It will be my first 1911 & I don,t know much about them. It was purchased by the seller new in 2007. Where would I find the serial # on this pistol?

The serial number is on the right side of the frame above the trigger.
