If I'm reading the numbers in the book correctly, looks like made 1985.

I have the Second Edition Standard Catalog and it says in there that the 6906 started production in 1988. Does the gun have a square or round trigger guard?

The gun was likely produced between 1988 and 1992. In 1993 They changed to the round trigger guard.
If you use the search function you will find thousands of posts about the 6906 because it is a very popular gun.

The 6906 was/is still a great pistol .. Mine was converted to a very smooth Double Action Only by a very good Armorer of the Canadian RCMP .. 8 pounds of butter smoothness .. Was my official Carry pistol as a Armoured Truck security guard .. i bought it when i retired .. The CZ-75 was a great fun gun for friendly local IPSC match .. Very sturdy pistol it was but my 6096 is THE loved one for me in the Bianchi Pistol Pocket no. 3 IWB ... with 4 mags .. was ready for war ..

It's a very early production model, the serial prefix is a dead giveaway, and the reason for the "AIP" prefix was it allegedly stood for "Automatic Improvement Program", so 1988 is a good bet. Do a search on the forum for "AIP" and there is some info on it.

Hate to pile on...but can y'all help me figure out when my 6906 was manfuctured? Serial Number #TCZ32xx. I know it is over 20 years old...owned it that long...but I am looking to get sights on it and people keep asking what generation.
Thanks, I know there is a book out there for it, but never needed it before and money is tight.
