Default Picked up a 4516-2 Last night

I was lucky enough to pick up a mint 4516-2 from the classifieds here thanks to Peakes. What a fantastic gun. I'll use it in my carry rotation, in fact I have it on my hip right now. I can't wait to shoot it and see if it's as reliable and accurate as my 4506-1 that I've had since new....I'm guessing it will be.

A few pics to make sure it actually did happen

4516-2 with my White Hat Base Max IWB and a new set of Hogue rubber grips I added

And the obligatory older and larger brother 4506-1 pics

Great little gun. Nice catch. I've had the 4516, 4516-1 and 4516-2. I wish I still had them. I only have my 4566 left out of the group.

Very nice score. If I remember right the late Jim Cirillo was a big fan of those.

Was going to sell my other 4516, but just can't do it! It's a mint one as well! Its a -1. They are a little heavy, but built!

I'd hang onto it Peakes. There probably won't be another compact 45 made as well or which operates as reliably. Certainly not from S&W anyway.

I'm spending more time shooting my 4516 these days. I'd forgotten how great a pistol it is. Regards 18DAI

I agree! Got a CS9 for my wife.. Being small framed the -2 was a little heavy for her. Will let you know how she likes it in reference to your thread on it. Should be here anyday.

The 4506 and 4516 make a great pair (as do the 5906 and 6906)...told my son these all stay in the family!

Default 17 Years Ago to the Day!

I bought my 4516-2 on this day seventeen years ago. Still have it and hope to have it another seventeen years. It's been a great shooter and I can't recall even one feeding issue.

Congratulations Kadonny, I hope you like it as much as I like mine!

Yeah was thinking of going to a CS45, but the -1 is in such nice shape we just can't part ways. I may pick up the CS down the road. I also have a few other gen3's on my bucket list..lol
