Default Reducing trigger pull weight on CS9 and 915

Hi all,

In the past year I've acquired a nice condition CS9 (blued/single safety/plastic rear sight) and a 915. Both have very heavy triggers compared to my other pistols (Beretta and M&P).

I am curious if there is a way to reduce the trigger pull to a more manageable weight. I know S&W offered DAO versions of both pistols with lighter DA trigger pulls...Would a DAO hammer spring work and if so is it available? Are there any other options besides having a full trigger job done?

Thanks!

I had some custom work done on a 4513TSW of mine and it brought both the double-aciton and single-action pull down substantially.

Karl Sokol of Chestnut Mountain Sports is where I sent mine and I'm very happy with the work that he did for me.

You can get a lighter hammer spring and also a lighter trigger return spring from Wolff.
Springs for SMITH & WESSON NUMBERED SERIES Semi-Auto Pistols

The hammer spring is pretty easy to change out but to change the trigger return spring you have to disassemble the frame. Bluebelly has some great videos for this.

The plunger and return spring are shown in this pic of my 915.

I looked on the Wolff Web page, but they don't list a hammer spring specifically for the CS9...does it use the same hammer spring as the 3913 series?

I'm afraid I don't see it either.

I just did a quick look at Brownells and didn't see anything for the CS9. You might want to contact Wolff and ask. If they don't have anything, I guess you'll have to give S&W a call.
