Default Model 41 quick question before purchase !

I have found a
model 41 in near perfect condition with original case # UBD0160. $1000 with tax included. I have a couple hours to make a descison before I return home.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Buy or no buy. I am a devoted revolver guy but have always wanted a nice 41.

Hello,
It looks nice, recent production, desirable 5 1/2" bull barrel, aftermarket stocks. It's your money. They list for $1300 from the S&W website. I own 3, but none as recent as this one but I swear by them all.

I'm no expert on these, for sure. But I have fired one at my range, and it was sweeeeeeetttttttt. Amazing trigger, no recoil (of course), and you can absolutely tear the center out of a target with it, shooting as fast as you can pull the trigger.

I hope to have one one day.

I'd go for it. Price is good, and if you don't happen to like it after you buy it (which I doubt!) you can always sell it for at least what you paid, probably more.

The 7 inch should bring a little more money but $1K (retail) sounds about right for this especially if it's complete with box & papers and in pristine condx.
You'll love the gun - that is - if you are going to keep it as a shooter. If not- you've paid what it's worth and could always re-sell for that price.

It will hold its value for years to come so buy it, shoot it, and love it for years. You won't be sorry you did as we all already know.

Default S & W model 41

Over the years I have had two, the 5 1/2 inch version that I sold. I bought it cheap because the outside finish was in rough condition. Not abused but certainly used! My current 7 inch model with a muzzlebreak is a beauty. It puts the bullets in one hole, if I do my part. I bought it used and I had to sent it back to Smith, but when I got it back it worked perfectly. That was a few years ago. Its my favorite 22 pistol to shoot. They are pleasant to shoot and they keep their value. You won't be sorry that you bought it.

i have a model 41 that i bought new in the early 1980's. have put thousands of rounds through it but have also taken very good care of it. of the ten .22 pistols i own, it is probably my all time favorite---except for possibly the model 17 of about the same vintage.
