Help with 4563TSW...
Hi all.
Very first post here. Just joined up to try and get some information.
I helped a buddy of mine out who was going through a nasty divorce by buying some of his firearms before his wife could get them. One of them is a pristine 4563TSW. It is in the box and has 5 factory magazines with it. Any clue on it's value? I searched gunbroker and armslist, etc...but found no others to compare. The original plan was for him to buy them back, but her lawyer cleaned him out good. I am thinking about selling this one and giving my buddy the money. He needs it more than I do. Any thoughts?

this is an alloy frame and has no more value in my opinion than the 4566TSW which is the stainless version.
the gun with 2 mags in the box, dont take no less than $500.
extra mags with the gun should bring 20-25 a piece.
your mileage may vary but this should be a ball park.

I sold one just like it with 2 mags recently for $750 shipped. Very nice guns. I would sell something else first, if it was me lol. If you want to sell for $500, let me know

Sorry to hear of your friend's bad luck - much too common any more. Good of you to be looking to help him out.
I hate to disagree with my friend from TX but I think the 4563 is a little more valuable because there weren't a lot of them made, as far as I know. I looked for one for a LONG time and never got a whiff of one though I could have tripped over the 4566s I saw.
It is a desirable gun to some of us. I wouldn't let it go for nothing. I'd up the ante slightly from what was suggested - maybe $575-$600 or so if actually LNIB. You can always lower your price if there is no interest.

Solid move giving the money to your buddy. Maybe put it on gunbroker with the divorce story and your intent on giving the money to him. Maybe some bitter ex husbands will treat it as a charity auction and drive the price up

I'll go with Bartman on this. I have both 4566tsw and 4563tsw and I wouldn't sell either one of them for less than 600 with one mag, but there not for sale. The 66 gives the feeling of indestructibility but a lot can be said about the 11 less ounces with the 63. 4563tsw's for sale don't come up very often and a 4566tsw sold on GB tonight for $856. I hope this helps you but the pricing on these pistols in a word unpredictable .

OK, I am out of the loop. If you have a 1911 question, shoot!
Your best bet to get the most money......gunbroker.
I recently sold a gun there were I got several low ball emails saying it would not sell at my starting price.....it sold for $100 more than the starting price.
start high and work your way down and good luck.

I believe I paid over $750 for an "ANIB" 4563TSW. Remember, to some folks condition is everything. I am willing to go a bit further if it is in good condition. While not as rare as its DAO brother the 4583TSW (I've only ever seen one and I bought it), it isn't as frequently encountered as say a 4566TSW. I would keep it.
However, if you must sell it, I would take no less than $650 perhaps more, again depending on condition.

Thanks everyone for your input. I listed her on gunbroker. We'll see how much we can make for my buddy.

Might want to correct your ad to specify Aluminum rather than Titanium alloy (frame material). Good luck with your project. You're a good friend. I hope your buddy appreciates what you are doing for him. Not many "friends" would do that.

No bidders yet. Must have her priced too high. Have never used GB to sell, so hopefully it is like ebay and all the bidding happens at the very end. We'll see i guess.

if I could offer some gunbroker advice.
I just saw your ad.........
details as to condition (example...small mark on non ejection side of slide near the letter S, grip has a some minor marks on the ejection side near mag release, etc, etc) if this gun was babied and does not have a mark on it....it needs to say it.
how many rounds or if unknown, bore is clean or hardly shot, etc, etc.
detail pic of all sides of the gun.
if you think you are Overpriced....try dropping the buy it now. also most wait till the end and the number of watchers is a good sign.
good luck

Thanks for the advice. This is my first "GB" listing. It has several "watchers".

I couldn't find the listing at first;I searched under TSW which is what I usually do & it wasn't there. I finally found it under "Other S&W". It might get more bids if it were easier to find.

Type in your search like this. *TSW and it always brings up all of them. Hope this doesn't make my next buy more expensive lol

I fixed it. I had no space between the 4563 and the TSW. I simply added and extra, separate, TSW in the listing title. Now it comes up on a simple "TSW" search.

Well a dozen and a half watchers, but no takers. Dropped the buy it now and relisted her. If it doesn't go this time I will try the classifieds here.
