CS40 and Lady Smith come home from WAC show
The October 2013 Washington Arms Collectors (WAC) gun show had a few 3rd gen Smiths on the tables this year, usually it's pretty barren.
1026 that was scotch-brited = $800
1076 = $775
NIB 5906 = $560
there were a couple more, but I forgot what they were.
... and then the two that came home with me: CS40 + 3913 Lady Smith = $925
The CS40 came with one mag and was barely used.
The 3913 came with one mag, non-original grips, a non-factory box, shows minor signs of being carried, and has had a few rounds though it. I believe it has a custom low profile slide stop, but I'm not sure if the 3913's came with low profile stops originally.
This isn't a super deal like some members seem to stumble onto, but I don't think I did too bad.
Please take a guess of how the $925 was split between the two.
...and I think I saw member BruceB there, but I wasn't sure so I didn't introduce myself. I snapped up a Super 9 at last year's show before he could find it - he might be mad at me.

Congrats! I love both of them and I am sure they will quickly become two of your favorites as well!

Comparing it to todays prices, if you split it down the middle $462.50 for each ain't too bad at all.

My 3913 nl came with factory lo-profile slide stop, which I prefer on a carry. Very good haul for that price.

I'd be interested to see what that low-profile slide stop looks like, if somebody would like to post a photo.
Thanks.

Yup, that looks like the slide stop on mine.
By combining both pistols, I was able to negotate a $50 reduction in the asking price.
In the end the CS40 was $425 OTD, and the Lady Smith was $500 OTD.
Now my to do list is to get some additional mags and swap out the LS grip with the original grey one.

Looks like a reduced decock lever, also. Very practical mods. I'm thinking of dressing down the two on my 908S.

I have the grey grip but I think it looks better in black . I have the hogue grip for it too but it makes it as thick as my 69xxs. Great pistol you'll love it. Have a CS9 and would be interested in what you think of the CS40 after you shoot it. I've shot the CM40 and the G27 found them both to be a bit unpleasant after a 100 or so rds.

Nice grab on those two. Either one of those would have come home with me, if I had been there Unfortunately, I worked about 50 hours that weekend between Friday and Sunday, so the show didn't happen.
The CS40 would make a nice mate to my two-tone CS40. I might be tempted to keep the Lady Smith, but I think I would prefer the regular 3913 or 3914.
And yes, I'm still peeved about not grabbing the Super 9 when I had it in hand. Since then, I have learned to commit faster, and for that I thank you! Maybe we can meet up at one of the future WAC shows.

Midwayusa has the gray lady grip in stock currently. I just got one but be prepared to put the soap and water to it as it has some sort of black residue all over it. And real nice score on 2 fine pistols.
