Default 915 Barrel Wear?

I recently bought a very nice looking 915 that on arrival the guy at the FFL tok apart and looked and said the barrel was about shot out. I looked and there was still clear rifling but not maybe not AS pronounced as new. My question is how often does a barrel actully have to be replaced? And if a gun was shot that often wouldn't it look pretty used? This has hardly a mark on it. LGC guy was telling me it would start to "key hole" probably in a 1000 rounds. It's my 4th 3rd Gen. Need more.

That's a load of "bovine excrement" You'll need a new aluminum frame long before that stainless steel barrel is shot out. Does your FFl or this LGS guy sell lethal tupperware by chance?

Nice little herd of toys ya got there BTW.

Cheers
Bill

Default 915 barrel Wear

thanks to both of you for the replies. Took the 915 after a good cleaning to the range and threw 100 downrange of inexpensive Tulammo (brass) without any incident. 915 is a breeze to shoot and very accurate. Another keeper. On to the next search
