Availability of the 1911sc e series
Anyone have any ideas about why the 1911sc e series is so hard to find. I am looking in the near future to pick one up but I have only been able to actually see and handle 1 in the past year.
Thanks. John

You may not find them local unless you reserve one and wait but they are available on the auction sites most of the time. You will like the gun...mine has been perfect. Whoops, I take that back...extractor needed an adjustment but Smith turned it around in 3wks. It was extracting 100%...just whacked me in the forehead a couple of times! That was with the early guns and has been addressed at the factory. Perfect now.

John after about 3 months of not being able to find one I had kind of put it out of my mind. About a month ago I dropped by a little gun shop in Atascocita, TX to see if I could get springs for my well-worn Colt Defender. They had a beautiful two-tone 1911SC in stock for a decent price. Bought it on the spot.
Best of luck with your quest!

It was the same way for the new Performance Center's (more the "bobtail") as well. But I was able to find mine about a week after I decided to really look. Keep looking and you'll have it.

SW 1911SC on gunsinternational
I got a two tone 1911SC a month ago from a D&L Shooting Supplies listing on Guns International. I've gotten two guns from them and both transactions went well. I see they also have some listed now. I love mine. Gun shoots nice.

for the price of the e series you could get the performance center versions for a few not that much more.
