I'm curious about the dimension comparisons of the 469/669 and 6904/6906. What differences exist between the models, other than blue versus stainless? Are they essentially all the same as far holster fitting, magazines, etc.

Go here Modern Firearms - S&W 39, 59 and others for some info and dimensions. However, I just noticed it leaves out the 69XX series.

Same dimensions, holsters interchange (square trigger guard models), magazines interchange. The big differences between the 469 series and 6904 series are the sights, and the 6904 uses a one piece grip, versus the 469 two piece grip with seperate backstrap (for a total of three pieces). The later 6904/6906 models have a round trigger guard. The 469 and 6904 feature a black anodized aluminum alloy frame and blued steel slide, while the 669 and 6906 have the aluminum alloy frame anodized in silver/gray and a stainless steel slide.
