I finally added a 10mm to my 3rd Generation family this past weekend! This 1076 was a former Kentucky State Police weapon. It came without box or papers but with 7 magazines! The seller was a vendor at the show but he only had one mag with him. After we did the paperwork, he took my name and address to mail the other 6 mags to me. I got them in the mail yesterday. I was lucky enough to find another S&W 10mm mag later on at the show for $28.00 from another vendor. So I now have a 1076 with 8 mags (4 with white follower & 4 with yellow follower). This pistol now sits at the top of my 3rd Gen collection with its Kentucky State Police brother, a KSP 4566TSW that I found last spring. Together they look out over their cousins in my safe: 915, 5944, 6906, 3913, 3913LS, 3953TSW, & 4053. A photo of my newest addition is below. I ended up getting the seller down to $850 for the 1076 with 7 magazines. Some of you all may think I paid too much, but I thought that I might not ever see one this nice again, much less with 7 magazines. Plus it"s a S&W!!

I think you did fine. They magazines are worth 35 bucks ea. The 1076 is a great gun, built like a tank. You can add the Hogue grips or S&W made a curved backstrap Delrin grips. I never liked the rubber Hogues..

With that many mags, I think you got a really good price on the gun. I bought a 1026 with one mag for $600. I bought a couple more mags from Midway for about $75. To get 7 mags, I'll be in your territory money wise.

I totally agree with everyone else... the magazines are the icing on the cake.

There has been a continuous surge in the popularity of the 1076, along with prices. I think you did great, for all of the reasons you mentioned... I'd love to have a matched set of KSP marked 1076/4566 pistols... congrats!!

that is so sweet.....I like those KSP logos...they look kinda cool.....besides it gives the weapon some history and character :D.......it also reminds me of a retired KSP Mustang deal I got beat out of some years back.....man I wanted that car ;)

Thanks for the feedback fellas!

Nocents, i agree with you on the KSP Interceptor Mustangs...they are sharp! I have a friend that has a 1986 model complete all the way down to the shotgun mounted in the trunk!

Great find and good price. My 1076 is my EDC. It is remarkably accurate. I was at the range a couple of days ago and blew the 9 and 10 rings completely out from 20 feet.

Doug, The tag on the pistol looks familiar, where did you find the 1076 if I may ask.

Hey Mike! i found the 1076 at the National Gun Day show in Loiusville last weekend. The seller was a dealer from Ohio, somewhere outside of Cincinnati.

Those tags looked familiar to me too. I think the pawn shop just off of I-65 near the post office on Scottsville Road uses those. He has had some 3rd Gen pistols in the past. I remember a nice 6906 that he had about a month ago, but I dropped by there yesterday for a look and it was gone.

Fastway, I do all of my transfer through Gary. He normally doesn't carry many third Gens. I thought the tag was his and was disappointed he did not call me like he does on occasion. Did not know you had a KSP4566. Mine is 1184 what number is yours?

Fastway Gun and Pawn

:):)A couple of months ago he had a real nice 4566TSW that came home with me.:D

I saw that one as well. It was a nice specimen. I was tempted to buy it to keep my KSP 4566TSW company, but decided to keep looking for a KSP 1076. My patience was rewarded last weekend when I found the 10mm I had been looking for.

Dont worry about price. Someone is inevitably going to tell you that you paid too much. If you could afford it and wanted it, you didn't pay too much.

Fine looking piece of steel by the way.
