Default 915 vs 5903

Any difference between the two other than the rear sight? Will a Novak sight for a 5903/5906 fit the 915?

Thanks.

I consider my 915 the perfect 9mm.,,,,,and for a price of under
$350.00 ,the deal of the century.....I don`t need the dual decocker , I don`t care that my 4003 has a smoother finish. I like the sights on the 915.....they are dead on. ITS NEVER FAILED TO FEED OR EJECT , EVER. Its compact with the original flat backed grips.....its perfect.

Don't mind the non-ambi decocker as I changed my 3913 to one and likely will change my 5906 to one.

Thanks.

There a few other differences. The safety on the 915 is not ambidextrous, i.e., right thumb only. The front trigger guard is not checkered. In addition, the front half of the frame is not machined to the degree that it is on the 5903, i.e.,it lacks the step in front of the serial/model number. IIRC the internals are the same.

Interestingly, the rear sight was a real two-fer in savings for S&W. It saved on the cost of the sight itself as well as the extra machining required for installation of the Novak.

No the Novak will not fit the 915 it takes a Trijicon SA04 $160.00 installed on your slide.
