I've been too quiet... Model 639
Its been awhile since I've posted, partly from being broke and not being able to buy more guns and partly because all of my smiths are 100% reliable. So I was at my local pawn today looking for xmas presents when somethng in the used case caught my eye. Boom, minty 639 original mag but no box. Square trigger guard and fixed sighots. TBD15XX is the SN anyone know the date of production? O yea price? They wanted $600, but since I do a lot of business with them I got it for $475. I might have overpaid a little but this is the only one I've seen in this condition. I was going to pay more if they wanted to haggle but no need. Of course pics or it didn't happen.

Edit: SN is TBD15XX. Still 1987? I hope so because that was the year I was born.
Thanks

Very nice!
I wouldn't have thought twice about $475. They obviously consider you a valued customer!

I would have jumped all over $475. Don't see how you can feel you paid too much. Nice one.

Yea it was at forsyth county pawn here in Georgia. They had a cllleeeaaannn nickel model 59 for under $400 that I would have bought too if I had the funds but I passed. They are great people to do business with, and I am pretty sure the same owners own Cherokee county pawn. Cherokee is the only place in Georgia, possibly the US that still does free ffl transfers no questions asked.
Good stuff all around. Whats even better is I have almost a dozen 39 series mags for my 39-2, 3904, and 3906 so the one mag didn't bother me. I like it more than any smith semi I've owned. I like the combo with square TG, fixed sights, no lanyard loop and ambi safety. Doesn't hurt its the same age as me. This is smith auto #7.
Safe shooting yall!

Man... here in CA, I would not have thought twice about it at $600... and for $475, I'd be selling a much loved body part to pay for it if I didn't have the cash on hand.
Very nice.

Congratulations
I saw that one a week or so ago at the shop. I already have a 639 but that one is nice.
It was on GB @ 579 - you got a good price.
