Default Bodyguard .380 Barrel

I purchased this firearm a few months ago. Love it. I haven't experienced some of the issues others have. I put a few k rounds through it, no issues. I am a Smith fan, of course. But, there is one dilemma. I keep "spares" for all of my firearms, usually springs, barrels, etc.. I recently contacted Smith and asked where I could purchase a barrel for the Bodyguard .380. I got an immediate response that these were restricted items, and they are not available retail. I've been in the industry (consumer, instructor, LEO, etc..) since the 80's, and I cannot recall EVER hearing anything remotely similar to this. If it warps, gets damaged, excessive wear (I put a ton of rounds through my guns) what options remain? Paperweight? Please provide insight if available. I realize many do not feel the need to store spare parts - I get it; but, I do, in every single case. I feel the need to consider selling it;but, it works GREAT and does what it is supposed to do perfectly, every time. Any ideas? I saved the emails from Smith, they were very clear - not available for retail sales, and "restricted".

Don't know why restricted, but as to an answer I would think that the lifetime warranty would replace severely worn parts if they will not sell them to you by themselves.

Default Thanks!

I am hoping that; but, I wish this was something I knew prior to the purchase. Wouldn't have bought it. Or even considered it. I really like it (would have opted out of the laser tho, but it works fine) and its proven to be reliable as heck; but, can't shake the disappointment of not being able to have the spare parts I want. I have another email into them asking what can be done when/if there are barrel issues. Apparently I am a planner....

Heard from them today - I can "send back the barrel and it will be repaired" should I experience any issues. Their warranty is, as expected, GREAT. But, lack of an extra barrel remains an issue for me. Sending my firearm away for warranty work isn't as good as swapping the barrel...

Let us know when the barrel wears out, I can't afford that much ammo.
