IMO - The functionality differences would be:
1) Ease of mounting optics. (This is the big difference, it is easier and the optic sets lower.)
2) Slightly thinner grips.
3) Slightly better trigger.
Yes, I agree that the traditional look of the Model 41 with 7 or 7 3/8 barrel is hard to beat. If optics are mounted, then, I prefer the look of the PC 41 over the 41. To each his own. It is a hard decision to make, that is why most own more than one.
Smithfan makes a good point about the value of the older Model 41s. However, Performance Center may stop producing a Model 41 without much notice. If they were to stop making a PC Model 41, then it would hold it's value very well I believe. I have already seen them sell for $350 above retail.
